"Watch Man: Part II", "I headed out once again to make my midnight appointments. There were three customers that day. There was some free time so I went and bought a few things. Including a new gun. The handgun I had already was basically broken. Even if I were to be mugged during a deal, I would be safer using my bear hands than using my gun. The old one, I was given by an old friend. I used the money I'd saved up to get the most reliable one I could easily conceal. I never really thought of buying a gun, until I saw that monster the night before. Along with the gun, a couple rounds of ammunition. I didn't buy much because honestly, I could hardly afford the gun. After the transaction was finished, I was headed to my first deal of the night. When I arrived at the old worn down barn right outside of town, I looked at the gun I purchased earlier that day. I viewed it as a dent in my self respect. I felt worse about myself the more and more I thought about the gun. I had never really killed anyone, and when I looked at the gun, I didn't know if I had the guts to do it if I had to.

I got over myself and tucked it back behind my belt and covered it with my shirt. I grabbed all the baggies needed for that night out of the back seat of my black Expedition. All my transactions were to go down in the same location. I was wary of this old abandoned Barn. I had never been there before. A slight headache came on as I walked closer. What if I see that thing again? I entered and went to the spot of the night's trades. The first two of my customers were there together, waiting patiently, sitting on an old bale of hay. They were talking quietly about what they would like to be if they ever went to college. They saw me and one of them muttered 'What took you so long?' The other one made a sly grin. I was rather late, but we finished dealing without incident.

They left and I stayed, waiting for my last client. He was taking a while, so I started investigating the barn a little more. It had a dirt floor. Half of the wood on the floor came from the roof that was half caved in. The stalls in the barn had no doors and were inhabited by giant rodents and roaches. Off to the second floor of the barn. There was nothing worth paying attention to, so I turned to go back towards the ladder. Once I turned around, there it was again. The monster from the night before had returned for an unwanted encore. My heart dropped at the sight of this shadow, that at this point haunted me. I was speechless, but my mind still processed what had to be done next. Almost by instinct, I pulled the loaded gun from my back, and fired at the beast. My bullet pierced through its torso as it felt like one passed through my brain. I collapsed, and the beast dissolved hopefully for good. My head began pounding. Blood was rushing through my brain. It felt like it does if you are being held upside down and all the blood is in your head. With all the pressure in my head, I actually grabbed it in agony and felt to see if anything was oozing blood. I seemed sound, but I didn't feel like it."
